The Chipotle Morita is a moderately spicy pepper, generally ranging from 2,500 to 10,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). While it shares the same base heat range as a fresh jalapeño, it is consistently perceived as hotter because it is made from fully ripened red jalapeños, which have a higher concentration of capsaicin.
